This is an old cemetery with a considerable mix of really old and new gravestones. It is interesting to note how times have changed in the last 100 years evidenced by the way grave stones have changed. The old stones are nearly completely worn away and the identity of the departed buried there will be lost in the not too distant future. What is notable about the newer stones is they look as if they will far outlast the ravages of weather over time and remain readable for centuries. One unique grave site was for a couple who were buried with their two dogs. This was new to me. Permanently affixed to one gravestone was a message in a bottle. I was intrigued and wondered what was written on the paper sealed in the clear glass bottle. The style of the gravestones has become very artistic as can be seen by the one that looks like sculpted roses running up the side. Also, I have never seen seats placed at the grave sites to accommodate visitors. One nice feature is a pump and watering can to water the flowers and shrubbery at the site. This cemetery has a lot of space open and probably won't be filled up till the next century, if at all. It is a quiet and peaceful place to visit even if you are unacquainted with any of the inhabitants.
